Significance of Jataka Tales- Anmol Kashyap

Jataka tales, originating from Buddhist literature, are profound narratives that carry immense significance across cultures. These stories depict the previous lives of the Buddha, known as Bodhisattva, before attaining enlightenment.

Through various characters and scenarios, Jataka tales convey moral teachings and spiritual wisdom. One key aspect of Jataka tales is their emphasis on virtues such as compassion, kindness, and selflessness. Each story showcases the Bodhisattva embodying these qualities, serving as an example for others to follow.

By illustrating the positive outcomes of virtuous actions, Jataka tales inspire readers to cultivate these qualities in their own lives. Furthermore, Jataka tales highlight the concept of karma, the law of cause and effect.

They illustrate how one's actions, both good and bad, shape their future experiences and spiritual progress. This teaching encourages individuals to be mindful of their deeds and strive for virtuous conduct to create positive outcomes in their lives. Moreover, Jataka tales provide valuable insights into human nature and the complexities of life.

Knowledge Vs Learning - Tejas Kumar

Knowledge and Learning are closely related but distinct concepts. Knowledge refers to the information, facts, and understanding a person possesses about a particular subject or the world. It involves knowing specific details, principles, or theories.

Learning, on the other hand, is the process through which knowledge is acquired or absorbed. It encompasses the activities, experiences, and efforts involved in gaining new information, skills, or understanding.

Learning can occur through various means such as formal education, informal experiences, observation, or self-study. While having knowledge is a part of being educated, it is not the sole factor. Education involves more than just accumulating facts or information.

It also encompasses critical thinking, problem-solving skills, creativity, communication abilities, and a broader understanding of the world. Education is about applying knowledge, adapting to new situations, and continuously seeking to expand one's understanding and skills.

In essence, having knowledge is a component of being educated, but true education involves the ongoing process of learning, growth, and development across various aspects of life.

Importance of Leadership - Shubhangi Kashyap

Importance of Leadership

Leadership is pivotal in nation-building, providing direction, motivation, and decision-making. A leader's vision inspires citizens, fostering unity and trust. Effective leadership manages change, fosters innovation, and promotes inclusivity, vital for societal progress.

By nurturing international relations, leaders secure peace and cooperation. Transformative leadership enacts reforms, leaving lasting legacies that shape a nation's future.

However, leadership alone cannot determine a nation's destiny; societal, economic, and cultural factors also influence its development. Yet, a strong leader can galvanize collective action, navigate challenges, and steer the nation towards prosperity, leaving an indelible mark on its history.

What is Faggot Bearer?- Animesh Kashyap

What is Faggot Bearer?

PC- Pinterest

A "Faggot Bearer" is a critical component in traditional timber framing, specifically in roof structures. This horizontal timber beam runs parallel to the rafters, providing essential support for their ends.

The term "Faggot" originates from bundles of sticks or small wood pieces historically used in construction. Positioned at regular intervals along the roof's length, these bearers distribute the weight of the roof evenly, ensuring structural integrity and preventing sagging.

While the term may have historical connotations, it's purely technical in contemporary construction, denoting a vital element in traditional timber-framed buildings, particularly in regions with a heritage of such construction methods.

Injustice according to Guru Nanak - Sakshi Singh

In Guru Nanak's view, injustice isn't just a problem in society; it's like a sickness in our souls. When we mistreat others, we're straying from what's right and ignoring the fact that we all have a special spark inside us.

Thinking about this, I realize how important it is for us to look out for each other, speak up against unfairness, and ensure everyone is treated equally and kindly.

It's like a reminder that we must live in a way that respects others, following the wise teachings of Guru Nanak.

The True Success - Tenzin Nyesel

For me, Success means achieving a goal that you have set in your life. Even if it is just getting better marks in any subject.

Success is a feeling when you are well satisfied with what you have or got. Achieving success does not always mean becoming a topper in class or becoming a rich person.

Sometimes it's just us who feel we have done better work that we couldn't do or attempt before.

The Way of Home

"A leopard never changes its spots."
- Anonymous

Far beyond the distant chains of ice, stone and snow in the land of the icey plateau lies my dwelling, enveloped by the stone and dust that gives me my livelihood. I have to hunt those devilishly quick prey that leaps away on cliffs and claws away on the ridges (Even when they have none!).

Fearless they are so I too have to become such, though they are swift, they lack much awareness and are lost in their petty fights. I can creep up on them quickly, and with my colour, they rarely see me! But a lot has changed since my solitude; there are more mouths to feed than my own.

My hunting days are longer and more gruelling, and hunting itself has become more complicated than it once was. My prey left their grazing ground and now lives on the planes in numbers more prominent than I had ever seen. It would be good if those two-legged skin changers did not look over them. They, too, live in herds of hundreds in their own lands, where they carve the plateau to their liking.

I would not be much concerned, but lately, the snow on the hill, which once shone white, has been painted grey with dust. I can no longer hide under my camouflage!

I take my cubs wherever I go as now my own kind threatens them in these difficult times.

What had changed in the time I grew? Where is the land I knew? The snow, the ice and those green pastures. What could be the cause?

Yet there is no time to complain as even those two-legged beasts are now hunting us! Will my cubs ever see the world I saw? Will they never hear the silent breath they take as they go for their first hunt? I shan't throw away my hope. As times have gone and become such, it will change once more.

Consequences of Actions - Pasang Sherpa

"The Ripple Effect of Actions: A Lesson in Consequences"

You threw water on the floor and did not clean it. Later on, as you walked past that same spot, your feet slipped on the wet surface, causing you to fall.

This unfortunate event is the direct consequence of your earlier action. It serves as a stark reminder that every action we take, no matter how seemingly insignificant, carries consequences. These consequences can range from simple inconveniences to potentially life-threatening situations.

By pausing to consider the potential outcomes of our actions, we can avoid unnecessary pitfalls and navigate our paths with greater care and wisdom.

Language - Saikiran Sahu

Language means to communicate,
Not a means to divide and separate.
A medium of joy, sadness,
Not a way to spread distress.

Use it freely, use it wisely,
But not as a weapon to separate us all.
The weapon which holds the power to destroy mankind,
A weapon that has no use of any kind.

Language is a way to communicate,

A way to accept differences-

Where the whole world celebrates this rich diversity
But not a way to spread adversities.

Earth separated by endless boundaries-

With different people, with different countries

but after all, among us, one heart beats
Only one language that the heart speaks

It is the language of love and understanding that it perceives.

Being Grateful- Tenzin Dakar

For me being grateful means not just saying thank you to a person but it is a feeling from inside which shows gratitude, and respect towards the person, organization or any other entity. We should not take it for granted and should not disregard the effort or the hard work which is done by somebody for us to make our life and living a better one.

You should always be grateful for what you are getting whether it is education, food, knowledge, morals or even the place where you stay as there might be many people in this world who might not be getting the basic necessities which are food, shelter, clothes, etc.

I am grateful for the environment where  I live and study, the place which provides me good education, delicious food, teachers, morals and the opportunity to study in the best schools which may not be possible without the helping hands of others.

It makes me feel scared when I think of whether I will be able to meet the expectations of people and the thoughts which tell me, I won't be able to utilize the hardships and efforts done for me by others, or if I don't score good marks but, these thoughts help me to push myself become better and work harder.

Some people take the hard work done for them for granted and do not care much about it and forget about it. They are not satisfied with what they are getting and always want more, whereas some people wish for life like them.

Giving- Pasang Sherpa

Giving is not only an act, it's compassion for the one who is receiving it. When we give someone something, it's not a thing we give but love, care, joy, and affection to that person.

There is joy not only in receiving but also in giving. But these days people hesitate to give because they have that mindset that if the things they are giving are not expensive or valuable it is not considered as giving but a shame to him or her. For these overthinkers, Mother Teresa had once well said "I cannot give great things but sm
all things with great heart".

Expensive things are not what matters to the people you love but love and care. As an example, see your mother, she does not want anything valuable for what she did all these years but the same love to her which she gave you when you were young.

Being Grateful- Monika Singh Pundir

In my words, be grateful for a thing, no matter how small or big, we should appreciate it and make the best use of it.

When somebody is in very need of something, we can help that person in need, it would be a very big thing for the person and can even change a person's life. The person may remember the thing done for him or her. The person will be thankful as well as grateful for the help.

But being grateful for someone doesn't mean one should always bow before the person to whom the person is grateful and do everything, wrong or right, for that person who is providing the things to you.

The Marvellous Tree

In the heart of the forest, tall and free, A tree stands proud, a marvel to see.
Its branches reach for the sky so high, A symphony of leaves, against the blue sky.

Beneath its shade, a haven of peace, Where woodland creatures find release.
Roots dig deep in the earth below, A silent dance, a life to bestow.

Through seasons changing, a timeless friend, Witness to stories, beginning to end.
Leaves whisper tales in the rustling breeze, Nature's secrets, shared with the trees.

In the embrace of the forest's might, The tree stands strong, a guardian of light.
A silent witness to the passing time, A testament to nature's sublime.

 TREES

Trees are there every day,
And under them, you can play.
Their leaves can be green,
And trees are never mean.
Please let them stay,
So just don't fray.
Keep them clean,
Don't let them lean.
Let them thrive,
And they will keep you alive.

Aditya L-1 deploys a state-of-the-art Magnetometer in the Sun's Halo orbit

On January 11, 2024, the Aditya-L1 spacecraft accomplished the successful deployment of its 6-meter-long magnetometer boom in space at Lagrange Point-1. This milestone occurred 132 days after the satellite's launch, while it was positioned in a halo orbit at Lagrange point L-1.

Chandrayaan-3 lander serves as a location marker on the South Pole of the moon

On January 19, 2024, the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) announced that an instrument on the lander has started serving as a "marker" near the lunar South Pole. The Laser Retroreflector Array (LRA), is being used as a fiducial point, to precisely locate the location of the lander on the Moon for reference.

India is working towards building its own space station, tests for it next year, said ISRO chief

ISRO plans to carry out tests, for the proposed 'Bhartiya Space Station', next year. Discussions are on with the manufacturers to launch its first module in the year 2028, ISRO chief, S Somanath, said on Thursday. Along with that, he announced to the media that, India's first Venus mission is also likely to be launched in 2028. "Venus mission has already been proposed once, we are looking at how to bring down costs. There are some high-value items, and we want to bring down the cost", the words of the ISRO chief.

Japan's explains how it made an upside-down moon landing

Japan became the fifth nation to land on the moon on Saturday, but its spacecraft ended up in an awkward and rather embarrassing position, with its engine nozzle pointed up toward space. By design, the Japanese spacecraft, known as Smart Lander for Investigating Moon or SLIM, was supposed to land on its side to avoid it tipping over on the sloping surface of the moon's landing site. "But, about 150 feet above the landing spot, one of SLIM's two engines appears to have failed", said officials at JAXA, the Japanese space agency.

Ingenuity, NASA's helicopter flying over Mars, ends its mission

The robot flew over 72 times, aiding the Perseverance rover in search of evidence that there was once life on the red planet. At least one rotor (robotic motor) broke down during the machine's most recent flight, last week, announced NASA officials on Thursday. But, Ingenuity is still in contact with its companion, the Perseverance rover, which has been exploring and excavating a dried-up river bed in search of 'extinct' Martian life. Sadly, Ingenuity will be left behind.

NASA's Perseverance rover confirms the presence of an ancient dried-up lake, that may hold clues for past life on the red planet

Evidence of ancient lake sediments was found at the base of Mars' Jerezo crater to give new hopes of finding traces of life in the samples collected by the Perseverance rover. The rover touched down on the crater on Feb. 18, 2021. Since, then, it has been on a continuous search for samples of extinct life on Mars.

The Art Of Living - Nishan Karki

So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.
                                                - William Shakespeare

Many people want to be immortal, many want to live a long life and others do not wish to live at all. Being immortal is impossible, living a short life does not sound good or pleasing. The best way is to live a long life and make a change. Living a long life is what people crave the most.

We must work for a balanced life to live longer. Wishing for a long life is not the way, we need to work towards it. To live longer we have to work towards our health, environment, style of living, mindset (way of thinking), etc.

● Health

The first and foremost thing needed to secure a long life is health. To be healthy, we need to eat good food, exercise, listen to good music, think positively, maintain a healthy circle of friends, visit the hospital at regular intervals, etc. We should not excessively indulge in any alcoholic beverages, tobacco, cigarettes, etc. These things affect our health and decrease our lifespan. Health is definitely wealth and a healthy mind lives in a healthy body.

● Environment

Our environment greatly affects our lifespan. People who are exposed to healthy, clean and peaceful environments tend to live longer and vice-versa. A healthy and clean environment, free from all kinds of pollution, diseases, etc., increases and maintains our life expectancy rate.

● Style of Living

People have different styles of living. Rich people live a luxurious life, middle-class people live a normal life and poor people face difficulties in living a life. People who have too much as well as people who have too little live comparatively short lives. People with adequate means of livelihood live longer. "Superfluity comes sooner by white hairs, but competency lives longer.”

● Mindset

People have different ways of thinking and mindset. There are many people who want to live a long life and some want to end life. If people have the mindset that they want to secure a long life, they will work hard to achieve their goals. People who want to end life will give up.

Living a long life is not the correct way. The correct way is to live a long and happy life, make a change and do good things for the people and the world before our life ends. If we do this, people will always remember us even after our death; our lives will also be worth living.

"Oneness" to Me: Tenzin Chonzom

Oneness shows us the meaning of connection, in every sense of the word. Oneness is a feeling of interconnectedness. It is usually experienced as an intense heart-opening and awareness of the goodness in all beings

Once Guru Nanak said, "God is neither Hindu nor Muslim”. He emphasized that there is only One God who has created the entire universe, including human beings. According to me oneness means unity of thought, feeling, belief, aim, etc.; a strong feeling of closeness and union.

Oneness is a usual attitude towards life, and it's the belief that everything is connected in the natural world.

Importance of Mathematics in our life- Nishan Karki

We will always have STEM with us. Some things will drop out of the public eye and go away, but there will always be science, engineering, and technology. And there will always, always be mathematics.

                                         — Katherine Johnson
Mathematics is one of the subjects that we study in school. It is crucial in every field and career of work. It is followed by many professions. It is important for everyone to learn Basic mathematics.
People buy different things from shops and supermarkets, and if they do not know how to calculate the amount of money spent, they may suffer financial loss. People get exploited if they do not know how to read and calculate the prices of products.
Basic maths is important here. People must know basic maths so that they do not get exploited or suffer loss, while purchasing things.
It is not convenient to carry a calculater when we go to buy things. In business firms, mathematics becomes crucial for the people who control finance and accounting module. Even a small change in numbers or symbols can cause a major problem. Experts in mathematics, along with commercial experts, can handle this job
Mathematics also helps to improve our analytical and logical thinking skills. It helps us to solve problems easily.
