Is it what we do that matters or the attitude behind it? - Rishona Chopra

PC- Medium
"Hard work"-  the term says a lot in itself. It talks about "working hard". It's doing the things you do with full dedication and perseverance. It is about exploring and going out of your comfort zone and doing those things with full dedication. Hard work isn't limited to being industrious but also to branching out and challenging yourself to do something new and "hard " for you.

A very common situation is related to our studies. I personally have my own likes and dislikes for school subjects but then you can't leave a subject you don't like. Even if it's something that you absolutely dislike, one has to do it. Now, even if one works hard and studies that one subject diligently, a very important thing is the attitude we do it with. Do we do it for the sake of marks or do we do it because we know it's vital and because we are eager to learn?

Our attitude towards something changes our perception towards it and improves the quality of our work. Not just now, in our school years but also in our future endeavours. It's not just what we do, it's the intention behind it. One can work in a profession of service and help several others but is that person in that profession for the money and fame behind it or because they really care? The intentions not only show in our quality of work but also affect our state of well-being.

While studying something that differs from one's interest, if we find little joy in doing it, then it may become easy for us!

In life, things can never always go the way we want them to go. People are different, their thoughts are different and so are their actions. The only thing in our control is our actions, thoughts and feelings. The feeling of co-operation and an optimistic learning attitude is what creates the difference.

It's the difference in our attitude that makes "hard work" not so hard after all!

Mindful living is important in present time - Tenzin Jambey

With time everything is changing; we see development and new infrastructure set up. The living standard of people is also changing, and with the way of living standards, people's minds and the method of executing actions are too changing. We must be very mindful about our activities and words in today's world.

Our one action can cause heavy destruction; with one step, our identity can change. With one step, we lose our trust, friends, and loved ones. Before doing any work or even speaking to somebody, we should ask ourselves whether we are doing the right thing. We should consider the effects and consequences, but many people still do something wrong even after knowing it is wrong.

Humans get many emotions like greed, selfishness, and desire to possess. That's why it becomes difficult sometimes to have control over our actions. How strange we human beings are. Aren't we just for the sake of fun and enjoyment? We put everything, even studies, aside? This all originates in the mind, and we should adopt good habits so that lousy thought can die at the place where it was created.

Good thinking leads to the execution of good actions, and good actions would lead you to a happy life. Indeed, we don't have control over our emotions but can control our actions.

How can we develop self-control?

Self-control can be developed primarily through practice and exercise.

To have self-control in life, it's essential to avoid temptations, have a goal in life so that we can work hard to archive it, do daily exercises, rest, get good sleep at night and many more. Having patience and understanding towards people's emotions is also required.

Cause and Effect - Priya Gupta

My pencil puppet gives me #joyoflearning

Reading The Art Of Focus at The Sunday School. Chapter 27, Humility and finding God, the Creator. #God #Humility by Gauranga Das.

Cause and Effect: Rationalists will concur that there needs to be a cause for an effect.

Puppet: Another example is a puppet show. When we see puppets dance (the effect) beautifully in the story narrated, we deduce that there is a puppeteer (the cause) entertaining us from behind the curtain and running the show. It’s foolish for the audience to think that the puppets are dancing on their own. It’s equally foolish for the puppets to think that they are independent and that they are the source of entertainment. In fact, they are instruments of entertainment. Just like puppets, we are instruments of God, aided by a body with its five senses and the subtle elements (the mind, ego and intelligence).

E-waste - Aanya Kumar

We all know that there is a lot of waste on this earth. We can have kitchen waste, waste paper or maybe some waste furniture which is broken or something. But, did you know that there is a waste known as E-waste? This type of waste is obtained from the gadgets that are broken. We tend to throw these gadgets than replace the parts that are damaged.

E-waste is harmful to our bodies. Although precious materials such as gold and platinum are stored, a few chemicals are toxic. Usually, kids are there for doing the necessary work, which affects their bodies tremendously. To save these children, let us decrease the discarding of gadgets. There are a few ways in which we do so-

We can replace parts that are damaged.

We can get it fixed and be ready to use it again.

We should give it proper servicing.

With these few easy techniques, we can reduce E-waste.

Freedom- Aanya Kumar

We usually hear our elders saying, "Our country has freedom... I am free to do what I want." But, do you think they are right? Actually, to some extent, they are. Our country became free from British rule in 1947. We mark off this great, joyous and independent by celebrating Independence day. However, doing whatever you want doesn't mean to do crimes. But, the critical question is what is freedom. Freedom is when we do not feel as if we are under the control of someone.

Let me explain this with a short story-

Rihan was busy watching a show when his twin brother, Ashish, called him. "Oh! Stop this show already... we have things to plan for the party tomorrow," said Ashish. Rihan replied, "What for? And anyway, this is the limited edition of the show. I am lucky to get it..." "Tomorrow is Independence day. If our country was not free, we would be limited to do almost everything... even seeing these shows." At this, Rihan jumped up. His instant question was how he could come of use. The brothers gave the best effort in making the party victorious, and they saw a movie about the sacrifice of Indians for freedom. Rihan understood the importance of freedom.

You see how important our freedom is? At the same time, we should ensure that we are not taking advantage of it.
