Forgiveness - Tenzin Nyesel

A very famous line said:

"When you forgive, you heal.
When you let go, you grow."

When we suffer through harsh times in any relationship, it's hard to think about forgiving the other person. On that, it's harder to move on from that situation. That's the time when we start thinking about ourselves. The time when we think, "If I say 'this' to that person, what will my image be towards her or him? What does that person think about me?

As time goes on, slowly and gradually, we realize our actions and the words we said at that time. We start getting feelings of guilt, sorrow, and anger. We start reflecting on those mistakes and the ego we have been holding. That's the time when we let go of dirty stains from our clean, white life. We try to get things together.

This reflection concludes with a line:
"Forgiveness is not just to forget and move on; it's about remembering it without the anger."

Our broken relationship with Nature - Rishona Chopra

Nature is all around us. The magnificent trees, the lush green forests, the animals and the birds. And in fact, we humans are nature. We are not a part of it, but we are nature.

Nature heals us. By this, I don't mean just the trees and forests that heal us. Our loved ones, friends and parents care for and support us, standing selflessly as our backbone.

Human's greatest enemy is ego. Is it the fuel for anger, jealousy, greed and whatnot? For desire, we fight wars. Why? For a mere piece of land. That very land belongs to none of us. Countries fight for the mountain areas that come into our country. But, in reality, that land is neither ours nor theirs. It is nature which has no possession. We don't have the owners we belong to, and neither does the land.

Without realizing it, we hurt nature for a silly reason. Amid these wars, aren't oceans and mountains being affected?

We greedily fight for possession, but do we take that possession with us when we die? One day, it all has to be lost.

Plants, humans, animals and birds are all nature. We are one and are meant to live in harmony. But we have all broken ourselves into different categories. We are told to live in peace and harmony, yet we have created a broken relationship with one another.

The beauty of our world lies not in our planet's biodiversity but in the harmony that we create with one another.

Due to the broken relationship, neither are satisfied; neither are we nor are the plants and animals.

It is high time we fix this relationship by realizing that ego is our greatest enemy and has ruined so much for us.

We must cure the wounds we have caused and prevent more from being created.

Act With Humility, Defeat Ego - Rishona Chopra

You love modesty; you hate artificialness. You do your best to be humble. Yet your ego and pride show their strength from time to time. Does this happen? Sometimes we don't realize what our stubborn ego is up to. The problem could be as fundamental as not knowing what ego is. Any image which is not our true identity is ego. It is when we make something we have acquired as our identity.

Our qualification, position, skill, relation, religion or caste - when we make any of these our identity, we play our roles based on this identity. We expect others to behave accordingly to us. Every time you act with humility, your ego gets defeated.

At the same time, Appreciation for others shows your modesty and humbleness. Instead of thinking about ourselves, we appreciate other person's efforts. Humility and Appreciation build a good relationship between peers, two base values of a healthy classroom. Values like cooperation and respect come in when we have the base of humility ready.

Humility is that rare value that we hardly find in people today. Simple gestures like holding the door for someone else or picking up someone else's belongings show humility. It demonstrates that you do not consider these actions small or petty. Humility is not thinking less about yourself. Instead, it is about thinking of yourself as less. We don't have to stop thinking about ourselves, but we must stop thinking of ourselves as more significant than all because we are equal in many terms. We should treat others the way we wish to be treated. I believe in life, we all need to be humble, and it is the only way to peace, happiness, and success because humility is, after all, the mother of all virtues and beings. It is the supreme power. Humility is essential in the classroom; it teaches us to be able and kind to all around us, our peers and teachers. Rishona Chopra Grade VI Gyanshree School

Ignorance - Rishona Chopra

Ignorance is when we ignore the law of nature.

When we think life will never end and we are immortal and will live forever is ignorance. When we forget that things change, we and ignorant.

If you think you have come out of the world of ignorance and have achieved something great, and now you are more extraordinary, this thought simply displays that you are in the world of ignorance.

Ignorance is thinking that you are greater or your success will never end. Once you achieve something big and instead of being greedy for more, you cherish it: being free from ignorance. When the thought does not come to your mind that your success will never end, you are free.

The most prominent example is Lord Buddha. Did he ever show off his success and strength? No, because he was free from ignorance. And as he rightly said, desire is the cause of pain. This doesn't mean we shouldn't have ambitions and dreams. There is a simple difference between the desire of want and need. If you desire to be selfless and humble, then be it but then don't be too proud over that because once you link want and greed with need, all the pain begins.

Ignorance leads to ego, and ego leads to anger and greed. To stop this connection, we need to be humble.

A Destroyed World - Rishona Chopra

What can destroy the world or what has destroyed the world?

What could the answer be pollution, poaching, war or what? Wait, is it the Covid -19? No, it's none of them but the root cause for all of them…ego.

Ego has a lot of pride, which leads to greed, selfishness, jealousy, and ultimately leads to anger. All these things whose root cause is ego can destroy the world. In fact, they have.

Greediness leads to war, followed by destruction. Having greed also means being selfish. Just care about ourselves, and when we are selfish, we don't care about animals and nature and start polluting it. We think we are the most incredible creatures on Earth, and without us, nothing can live. We are so wrong. I would like to share a few lines from the poem "There Will Come Soft Rains" by Sara Teasdale.

Not one will know of the war, not one
Will care at last when it is done.

Not one would mind, neither bird nor tree,
If mankind perished utterly.

These lines written by Sara Teasdale say that mankind would perish because of war, but nature will continue. We are just a part of this world, but God's most beautiful and dependent creation is nature.

Now that we know the root cause of this trouble and why having an ego is really for stupid reasons, we have to change that.

'The ego seeks to divide and separate. Spirit seeks to unify and heal.'

'Ego is just a small three-letter word, which can destroy a big twelve letter word called relationship.'

War - Rishona Chopra

War

War causes nothing but destruction,
It causes the same fear as a huge volcanic eruption,

The only difference is that we can stop war,

And create the world a bright star!

Our ego leads to greed and selfishness, And that leads to evilness. If only we would understand, That what we claim for is just land!

Ruling and having power isn't needed, Because that, for others, is being badly treated, We all are equal, And having equality is not illegal,

Then why not stop war, And have a good happy year!

"If war can be started by lies, it can be stopped by truth."
