Questions I ask - Rishona Chopra
Photo from https://www.peakpx.com
Nature is so perfect, But why are we so wrecked? Why are we with flaws? Why do humans have the habit of going against the laws? Why aren’t all of us patient and kind? Pure and with a clean mind. Why do people steal?
Why do people not feel?
Why do we lie and cheat?
Why are people poor and on the street?
When I ask these questions, I realize,
I don't have to look for the answer up in the skies.
The answer is within me,
I am the holder of the key.
God is the fuel of the car,
Helps the car move like a bright star.
But it's the driver’s fault that the car has met an accident,
The fuel isn’t responsible for the mistakes and accidents.
God has given us this body and mind,
Given endless freedom to humankind.
Gave us materials so we have enough food,
But we’re the ones who wrongly viewed.
We made alcohol and tobacco,
We blamed god for our troubles although,
We were the ones to blame,
We were lost in making money and fame.
God gave us the mind,
We had an option to be kind.
But we’re the ones who made the other choice.
And lost the pureness in our voice.

Trees - Pranvi Chandra
Trees are there every day,
And under them, you can play.
Their leaves can be green,
And trees are never mean.
Please let them stay,
So just don't fray.
Keep them clean,
Don't let them lean.
Let them thrive,
And they will keep you alive.

Is social media distracting us? - Sakshi Singh
It connects us all, yet ties us to strings.
In virtual worlds, our thoughts are muddled.
In screens we're lost, our focus blurred.
Scrolling boundlessly, time slips away.
But are they worth the time we hold?
In this online crowd, reflect and find a harmony where you truly belong.

Self-realization - Rishona Chopra
Do you know yourself?
When we are asked about our weaknesses and strengths, don't we take quite a long time to understand ourselves? We try so hard to understand others but do we honestly appreciate ourselves?
The human brain is full of complexities and thoughts that we, too, fail to understand. We need to understand our passion, our capability and to what extent can we reach.
I was asked who I was,
And there was a pause,
A long stretch of silence,
I was thinking as if it was science.
I realised I fail to understand who I am,
Did I have the ability to pass a challenging exam?
I needed to understand by ability,
Years pass by,
I still don't appreciate my being.

Happiness From Within - Rishona Chopra
Happiness is one of the most critical and defining qualities of life. Everyone wants to be very happy all the time, and no one wants to lose their happiness at any moment. There is nothing more important than being happy in human life.
It's the top priority of all humans. But at the same time, everyone feels that happiness is not permanent and comes and goes away very quickly.
This is because the source of happiness for most people today is external and external sources in our present lives keep changing and going through ups and downs. Some people in the world also feel that this is how happiness has been eternal - unstable and temporary in nature, and there has never been any time in the world when happiness was permanent. All of us want happiness in our lives, but so many bad things are happening in the world; how can we be happy on earth? Here's the answer, we don't get happiness from things and situations. Even the worst thing in the world can have a positive side!! So if we look at each case positively, we can easily be happy. We do not get happiness from the environment but from within.
According to the world happiness index, the World Happiness Report is an indicator of global happiness. The rankings are based on reports of respondents' assessments of their own lives, and articles on national happiness are included. The report also compares other elements that influence (quality of) life. The rankings of national happiness are based on a Cantril ladder survey. Nationally representative samples of respondents are asked to think of a ladder, with the best possible life for them being a 10 and the worst possible life being a 0. They are then asked to rate their current lives on a 0 to 10 scale. There is a tale about Birbal in a similar context. Once a man came up to Birbal and said that his home did not have space, so Birbal advised him to bring goats to his house and take them out after a day. When the goats were there, the house was so whole and small, but when they went out, it felt so much bigger! So happiness is just a perspective of looking at things!
There is this quote by Lewis B. Smedes - To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover that the prisoner was you. This means that when we have a conflict with someone, they are also bound by negative feelings, and so are we. We both are sad and want to solve the fight, but our ego does not allow us to do that. So if we once set the prisoner as the person who we fought with, not only will he be free from the negative feelings, but so will we.
I feel happy today,
An aim to smile every day.
It's a unique ray of hope,
That gives me a new scope.
To do something good,
I misunderstood,
The word happiness.
I thought there was a reason for this smile.
But all this while.
I was wrong to think,
That happiness could shrink.
It was something even more unique,
That came from within and was sentimental.
I couldn't possibly want something more,
But to be happier than before.

How The Dog Found Himself A Master - Rishona Chopra
He simply wanted to make things faster.
He first found a wolf,
But even if he held a stick, he would say “woof”.
He went to a bear,
But he wasn’t that fair.
He came to a lion,
Who he thought was as strong as iron.
He stayed with him for quite some time,
But things weren’t okay.
The dog thought he was the strongest,
At least in the forest!
But man was stronger,
At least better.
So he stayed with a man,
And that’s how his peaceful life began!
This poem is inspired by one of our English chapters, “ How the Dog Found Himself A Master”. It is said that the relationship between dog and man is indeed a unique one. This poem displays a dog’s journey to finding its true master.
“You may have many best friends, but your dog only has one.”

Ikigai - Rishona Chopra
I am on my journey to find my Ikigai,
While wishing I,
Could see it sooner.
But little do I know,
That my journey,
Is an army,
To find my ikigai,
And that itself is an ikigai.
All ambitions and dreams,
Half-fulfilled streams.
Never have I felt this passion.
To find my meaning for being.
We all were born to do something. But this question always encounters us - What is my reason for being? The beautiful part is that knowing this takes a long journey for most people. Some of us already know our passion - our reason for being.
It's okay if you don't. It's a journey that has to enjoy. Have you ever felt that by watching a movie related to space, you want to become an astronaut or perhaps by watching a few video games, you want to be a creator?
Many people have gone through this journey, and you know you don't really have to put in any effort. Life unfolds itself with its wonders. Let it.

Enjoy the present! - Rishona Chopra
"Practicing meditation and detachment can help us remain in soul consciousness and emphasise experiencing being overdoing. Our health, inner well-being and definition of success are more important than any job, salary, degree or anyone else's opinion about us. We can, therefore, consciously create a situation of peace and happiness where the rising tide of expectation is controlled. We are no longer troubled by unfulfilled needs; even the most ordinary experiences become enjoyable."
The future, the past,
Is a world that is vast.
It is a lot to wonder,
You can think about thunder,
and think if you can become a funder.
In this vast world, we forget,
That we haven't touched the present yet.
All forgotten about who we are,
We start thinking or the far.
It is truly so bizarre,
We think of the present as an old scar.
Never thinking about the present,
We forget about the pleasant.
Enjoying the moment is an art,
But I wonder how we fail despite being so smart.
Those thoughts keep popping up,
I put the present in the old cup.
Never did I ever enjoy what I have,
With the future I always began.
But today can I just relax and enjoy the present?

Autobiography Of A Top - Rishona Chopra
Hello there! I am a top, and my life is spinning. I hardly ever stop. My balance is excellent!
I am a top,
I am as small as a drop.
I spin very fast,
I will leave you aghast!
I have my own spinny life, you see. I can't see anything correctly. I have two best friends - My Owner and my Floor. My Owner spins me so perfectly that I never fall and always do in on the floor because he knows he is my best friend. But now the only floor is my friend as my Owner lost me and threw me away, left alone wounded.
Now, I am sitting in the park, separated from my friends, and finding a new owner.
