Impact of the My Good School Program

On 21st July 2024, Mr P. V. Paul, Director of QCR&D, visited Sunbeam Varuna School and Hostel. During his visit, he interacted with the boarders and gathered feedback on the Sunday School reading sessions. The boarders shared that these sessions have significantly enhanced their vocabulary, reading, and writing skills. Some also mentioned that they have learned valuable morals and ethics.

Harsh Tiwari and Divyansh summarised the day's chapter, demonstrating their understanding and engagement with the material evidence.

Mr. Paul also had an exclusive meeting with the interns, where he discussed their roles and responsibilities. By contributing to these sessions, he emphasized how they can refine and apply their skills and potential.

Overall, the visit was highly interactive and fostered a more profound understanding among all participants.

Reflection on I am the master of my fate - Shristi Khulal

When I consider the word fate, I think of luck and fortune. The above line talks about controlling our fate. A person born into a royal family becomes king even though he doesn't deserve it because of fate. He is not loved by the people of his kingdom. On the other hand, a person born as a common person who has all the qualities of becoming a king becomes a king by fighting and winning the throne, is loved by all, and is the real king.

We can see in the above story that the person who was born into the royal family got the position by fate and was not a true king by virtue. On the other hand, the person who was not born into the royal family was a real king who was loved by all; this shows that fate is not as powerful as hard work and qualities.

We can either be the first king or the second; it all depends on us. Whenever a person gets success by chance, the person never knows the meaning of hard work and cannot taste the real success in life. The other person knows that he and his actions are responsible for whatever happens in his life.

At last, I want to say that mastering our fate is important, as it gives us confidence and improves our way towards life.

Tune into this fruitful conversation where our friend Arav unfurls his stories. Join us in the celebration of Quality at My Good School and make it even more fun!

Paraphrased from The Little Book Of Values by Julie Duckworth
Quality • noun (pl. qualities) 1 the degree of excellence of something as measured against other similar things. 2 general distinctions. Three distinctive attributes or characteristics.

Children say Quality is: • Working together to get quality work in your books • Making sure you’ve got a great team • Achieving quality can make yourself and others feel good inside • It’s about not giving up on yourself; you need to believe that you can do it • You need quality to care for the world • Your teachers want you to have high standards and quality work. They plan good lessons so you can always do your best • If we think we can, we will do well. We say in our heads and out loud, ‘I can and I will.' Our thoughts need to be of high quality; there is no room for negative words • We need friends of good quality in our lives. The sort of friends who will stand by you when everything is down.

Quality - Arav Agarwal

Quality is how something or someone is. Everyone has unique qualities, and we need an environment to develop our qualities. At My Good School, we all are building various qualities like leadership, listening, and teamwork. We all can choose the qualities we want within us by being self-aware, responsible, willing to learn and explore and mindful of ourselves and our surroundings.

“Quality is more important than quantity” - Steve Jobs.
Our mentor explained in our mind-body cricket session that it does not matter how many balls you play or the number of overs you bowl, but what matters is the quality of your batting and bowling, as that is what everyone will remember about us.

I feel that our qualities become our character. So, to build these qualities, we want others to remember us as we should be passionate and act with integrity, empathy, kindness and patience, as these are the basic foundations of human values to live a successful and wonderful life.

Making Others Happy - Arindita

Making others Happy is a quality each and every one of us should have. It is a very simple action that can make a big difference. All you need to do to make someone happy is do whatever positive action you can to bring a smile to their face. You would even notice that the more you bring happiness to others the happier you will get. It is just the positivity you and the person are sharing. At times you may not be having a very great day, you might be upset or unhappy because of something. Sometimes we even say hurtful things, but it will do nothing but make the person and even you upset. So whenever you feel down try to bring yourself up, try to do something that makes others as well as you are happy.

The more you practice this action the happier you and the people around you would be. So make others happy and find joy while doing so.

Appreciation - Himanshi Rajpurohit

Appreciation means recognizing someone's good qualities. If you can acknowledge someone's good qualities, then you should appreciate them for that. Now you would think about it that appreciating anyone does not matter that much. But it's totally wrong because all those trying new things need your admiration the most. If we give value to their thoughts, then more desire will increase in their mind towards that work. For example, as I am making sketches, painting, portraits, etc. I am getting so much praise and appreciation from people, and that's why it encourages me to perform much better. I would like to share a poem composed by me to thank all those who appreciated me.

Thanks to those who hated me,
You made me stronger.
Thanks to those who loved me,
You made me go further.
Thanks to those who stayed with me,
You showed me true friendship.
Thanks to those who encouraged me,
You made me feel like I was worth it.

My Family and Their Happiness - Gaurangi Rastogi

We, humans, are social beings. We have family, friends, and relatives. Since this Covid-19, we have been separated from our families. Now, let me tell you, what does family mean to me?  My family means a place where I can be safe physically and mentally. My family means a culture my world resides in. My family means a shield that protects me from bad influences. My family is like a body in which everything works in harmony.

My family means everything to me, and I want to see them always happy. My family makes me happy, and so even I should try and keep them happy. Some simple ways in which I give happiness to my family are:

● by bringing good marks and doing well at school.

● by spending time with them instead of playing on gadgets.

● by teaching them something

● by supporting them in bad times

 ● by not being stubborn

● by sending them letters and emails every weekend from school.
