Summary
Workshop Schedule and Book Discussion
Sandeep and Manisha discussed the upcoming workshop schedule, with Sandeep clarifying that they will only conduct one workshop on the 12th, followed by a day to explore the school campus. The second day will involve Amitha conducting a session with Sandeep, and the third day will be dedicated to a master class on YouTube, which will be live-streamed to all Sunbeam branches. Sandeep also mentioned that he will be meeting Meenakshi at Khan Farm for lunch on Tuesday. Jugjiv then led a discussion about the book they were reading, focusing on the protagonist's struggles with adoption and his journey towards self-discovery. The group also discussed the importance of gratitude and the role of a psychologist in helping the protagonist.

Baba's Trip and Socio Acquisition
Jugjiv discussed the recap of the previous chapter as Baba's recent trip to Delhi, where he had gone for over a week. Baba returned home without immediately unpacking his baggage or sharing his trip experiences. Cinnamon, who had accompanied Baba, was disappointed as Baba usually brought back interesting items and stories from his trips. The family later discovered that Baba had been discussing something important with his wife, Ma, which led to a conversation about a report. The family also discussed the history of Socio, a homegrown fresh juice-based carbonated drink from Surat, and the recent acquisition of a 50% share in the company by Reliance.

Cinnamon's Quest for Biological Parents
Jugjiv discussed the desire of a character named Cinnamon to meet his biological parents. Cinnamon's father, Baba, agreed to help and they went to the Adoption Agency. They were able to contact Reshma Gawali, a local businessman who is in touch with Cinnamon's mother, Aditi Govet. However, the meeting with Aditi did not go well, as indicated by Ma's emotional state. The family's dynamics were affected by this revelation, with Ma becoming withdrawn and only coming out for chicken soup. The situation remained unresolved for several days.

Exploring Characters' Emotions and Thoughts
Jugjiv led a discussion about the emotions and thoughts of characters in a story. The group discussed Cinnamon's mother's concerns and her potential fear of losing Cinnamon. They also explored Cinnamon's curiosity and desire to know more about himself. The conversation touched on the challenges faced by the characters, such as the possibility of adoption and the difficulties of living in a tribal community. The group also discussed the concept of Adivasis, the original inhabitants of India, and their unique way of living in tune with nature. The conversation ended with plans to move on to the next chapter of the story.

Tribal Communities, Malnutrition, and Reflections
Jugjiv led a discussion about the challenges and potential solutions for the lives of tribal communities in India. The participants debated whether it's right to try and integrate these communities into mainstream society, with some arguing that they should be allowed to live their traditional way of life. The issue of malnutrition was also raised, with Jugjiv noting that India has a poor record on stunting in children. The group also shared personal experiences of using public toilets, with Sandeep praising the cleanliness of a particular facility. The conversation ended with a reflection on the joy of giving, with Sandeep suggesting a story about Solob International as a potential reflection.

Balancing Excitement and Fear in Life
In the meeting, Jugjiv led a discussion about the experience of excitement and fear together, using the example of a character in a story who is excited to meet his real parents but fearful of rejection. The participants shared their own experiences of feeling both excitement and fear, such as before exams or big matches. Jugjiv emphasized the importance of acknowledging and dealing with doubts, suggesting that one must have faith in oneself and take action to overcome them. The group also discussed the importance of addressing negative thoughts and the need for self-confidence. The conversation ended with a discussion about a bus toilet situation, where a woman named Ma stood up for the passengers and successfully got the toilet cleaned.

Standing Up for Rights and Learning
In the meeting, Jugjiv discussed an incident where he stood up for others and highlighted the importance of standing up for one's rights. He also shared a personal experience of trying to make a complaint to Amazon, which was difficult. Sandeep then emphasized the importance of reading and reflecting on the "Joy of Learning" diaries, which are shared with the group. He encouraged everyone to read and comment on the diaries, as it is an important part of the learning process. Sandeep also mentioned that the diaries can be searched by name, allowing individuals to review their own reflections.

Joy of Learning Diaries Discussion
Jugjiv and Sandeep discussed various posts on the Joy of Learning Diaries, particularly focusing on posts by Anjali and Nancy. They appreciated the depth and emotion conveyed in these posts, especially Anjali's "Life from the Eyes of Trees" and Nancy's "Meeting Birth Parents." Sandeep also highlighted the importance of loving books and oneself, drawing from his own experiences with raising a chick. The group also discussed the concept of love across species, with Sandeep sharing his experience of raising a chick and the strong bond that formed between them. The conversation ended with Sandeep encouraging everyone to share their bookshelves or books by their side.

Animal Bonding and Internship Opportunities
Sandeep shared his personal experiences with animals, highlighting the bond he formed with a stray puppy named Doggie. He also discussed the challenges of raising bottle-fed chicks and the importance of understanding animal emotions. Sandeep then introduced the concept of selective breeding and its impact on animal behavior, using the example of French Bulldogs. He also discussed the potential for animals to form voluntary relationships with humans, citing the example of a curious reindeer herd in Lapland. Sandeep concluded by announcing the availability of various positions for interns at My Good School, including School Captain, Podcast Station Manager, and Joy of Giving Ambassador. He encouraged everyone to apply and emphasized the importance of reflection and creativity in their work.

Being Grateful- Tenzin Dakar

For me being grateful means not just saying thank you to a person but it is a feeling from inside which shows gratitude, and respect towards the person, organization or any other entity. We should not take it for granted and should not disregard the effort or the hard work which is done by somebody for us to make our life and living a better one.

You should always be grateful for what you are getting whether it is education, food, knowledge, morals or even the place where you stay as there might be many people in this world who might not be getting the basic necessities which are food, shelter, clothes, etc.

I am grateful for the environment where  I live and study, the place which provides me good education, delicious food, teachers, morals and the opportunity to study in the best schools which may not be possible without the helping hands of others.

It makes me feel scared when I think of whether I will be able to meet the expectations of people and the thoughts which tell me, I won't be able to utilize the hardships and efforts done for me by others, or if I don't score good marks but, these thoughts help me to push myself become better and work harder.

Some people take the hard work done for them for granted and do not care much about it and forget about it. They are not satisfied with what they are getting and always want more, whereas some people wish for life like them.

How your relationship with your parents has evolved with time ? - Saikiran Sahu

"A father's goodness is higher than a mountain. A mother's goodness deeper than a sea."
-Japanese Proverb

Every child has an extraordinary bond with his/her parents. Even if they scold, punish, or even sometimes ignore you for teaching you a lesson, they do this for our betterment. I have loving parents, who I sometimes want to get away from, but I know they will always be in my heart and soul.

When I was a baby or even when I was a toddler, what I could remember, they used to get me a lot of gifts and toys for me to play with. They used to coddle me a lot, and even now, as circumstances have changed as I have grown up and have a lot of burden for my studies, they have always given me what I want and shown support for every decision I made. I have many loving relationships, like with my mother and my grandparents, but the one I have an extraordinary place in my heart is of me and my father's relationship. My bond with my father is very unique. We are called a fantastic duo in our family. His opinions have always mattered to me a lot. My father rarely scolds me, and if he does, it is basically due to my academics, but if he has told me to do something, I make it my mission to improve it and make him proud. After all, even if a child becomes an adult, he/she will still be their parents' small children.

Understanding between animals and humans

As we know, an understanding person can understand how others are feeling and forgive them if they do something wrong. The four steps of understanding are " know, use, expand and surpass". We should also understand the feeling of animals as they can't speak for themselves in our language. As we studied in our Sunday School, many animals want to share their emotions with us.

The relation between animals and humans in which man understands the feeling of an elephant. The emotional state of many animals is easily recognizable by their faces, eyes and how their muscle-tone changes, eye size and gaze. Many animals need help and are in danger because people are trying to kill them. That is why they became man-eaters; we still don't understand them. Instead of making them comfortable and able, we are killing them. So we should respect wild animals by keeping a safe distance away, not approaching and removing their environment. If you are scared of wild animals or found while travelling, just don't chase them, stay quiet and calm, and don't touch or get close. So we should also understand the emotions of animals.

Aayushma Gaha

Understanding has a unique value that other epistemic states, such as knowledge, do not. This fact threatens the justification for the focus on knowledge that the history of epistemology displays. Elsewhere it has been argued knowledge does not possess this exceptional value. There are a couple of lines of argument, however, that threaten to extend and denial of this unique value for understanding. Underlying all such challenges is the apparent fact that the language of knowing and understanding are closely related. This discussion argues that the kind of understanding we prize most is immune from the concerns plaguing the theory of knowledge. Animals don't understand the language in a language,  but they understand what you want to mention by your gestures, body language, and tone. These are animals like parrots, monkeys, dogs etc.
Sunita Bk

Understanding is that without which you cannot be a good human being. To be a better human being, one should have understanding. Understanding can improve explanatorily when one has more true beliefs of fundamental epistemic value. Stepwise, we should have an understanding of animals. In understanding animals, Lars Sevendsen teaches us how humans can attempt to understand the lives of other animals. We should understand the feelings of animals then. Only animals and human beings can have a good relationship between them. Let's take the example of a dog and how a dog understands us. Dogs read more into our tone and body language than actual words. They focus on us and observe our physical clues to determine what we want them to do. Understanding why some animals help others at the potential cost of their own survival and reproduction, for example, not only gives us insight into their behaviour but could also help us understand our species' ideas of altruism and sacrifice.
Samarika Karki

Since humans are more advanced and social, we should have empathy. We should be understanding, caring and loving not only between us and the other person, but we should be understanding, caring and loving to animals also, as they have feelings too. If would be trust between the animal and humans, the world would live in peace. We should betray animals that rely on us; only then will there be a bond between that animals and humans.
Ngawang Lhamo

Humans have various ways of survival. Animals are only dependent upon nature. So, they do not have any other means of survival. Humans have become much more advanced and know several ways to survive and sustain themselves. Animals do not have such survival techniques; therefore, they only depend on nature for food. We can speak a complex language. We use our logic. But animals only do their actions based on instincts. Apart from the differences, humans and animals are similar in certain aspects and have an outstanding bond. Their bond mutually benefits people and animals and is influenced by behaviour essential to health and well-being. This includes, among other things, emotional, psychological and physical interactions between people, animals and the environment.

Akshra Singh

As we know that the human and animal bond is a mutually beneficial and dynamic relationship between humans and animals that is influenced by behaviour to the health and well-being of both. This includes, among other things, emotional, psychological and physical interaction of people, animals and the environment.

Animals have been protectors, companions, co-workers and even best friends. Humans need animals in their lives to stay healthy, mentally and even physically. Animals are used in standard therapy to increase movement in the handicapped. We should also understand animals' feelings. They can't speak or show their emotions as we can; it doesn't mean we will not respect or treat them however they want. Because they are also like us, they also have feelings.

The Stuff Toy To The Heart - Reveda Bhatt

Understanding someone, one's problems or just giving them a platform to open up fully is sometimes all one needs to get better. For that, what is needed is a mutual relationship where both people are fully committed to helping each other solve their problems because if one's just a bagpipe, then even if they get what you say, anything you share with them is just not safe.

Understanding is an excellent virtue because that's when someone lends you their ears to make you feel better. It's not like they give you a rebuttal for what you say, but they agree to whatever you say and then help you look for a solution. Now, isn't that what a true friend does!?

Everyone has a right to be understood because it is essential to know how others look at the world from. To be good at understanding, what we need to give up on is contradicting. Otherwise, then it just feels like a debate, way more hectic for the person who needs, in fact, "wants" to be understood.

Like warmth to the cold, comfort to the hurt, clouds to the sky, stuff toy to the sad, does understanding work as an aid to a cut deep into trust.

Then, the aim, which is the main, is that you need to keep all that to yourself and not go on sharing the person's views with others. Only then would you be able to become a good human being, a true one, true to yourself!

Heart Vs Brain - Tenzing Dhekyong

Many people believe in what the heart says, while others believe in the brain. For me, it depends upon my situation. For example (not an actual incident), if my brain tells me to go and help my granny with gardening, my other inner side, my heart, would say to me, complete the rest of my work. That was in the case of listening to the core.

Many actors and actresses fall for each other during one specific film. But from the other side, they would say they want to focus more on their career than having a relationship.

So, because of all these situations, it depends upon what I am going through; so I would like to say that no one didn't that they don't listen, whether it's a heart or a brain...

The Bonds We Make - Oshi Singh

Image courtesy https://www.pinterest.com/,used by Oshi Singh for representation only.

People often say, 'I would be happy if I had that!' This often makes me wonder how a small thing can make a man happy, but after all, we're living in a materialistic world.

A world where nothing lasts forever, and neither do these small worldly things. All that lasts forever are the relationships that we build. Because when we take our last breath, we shall see how kind the world really is and whether or not we earned the badge of being remembered. Relationships are the only bonds; they will never fade if they are strong enough. They might not always be happy and joyful, you will have your ups and downs, but it's up to you to make it last forever.

You might argue that even relationships meet an end. But do they really? Relationships are the strongest bonds which may feel like a rollercoaster at times but will always be a forever-stored memory & it's in our hands to make it a good one.

A good relationship isn't one with the most minor disagreements but one which has risen above their differences. Because even at the very end, these people shall never forget you and keep you in their hearts. So let's enjoy & celebrate our time with our loved ones in the time we have. After all, life's too short to hold a grudge.

Oh, teacher, I salute Thee - Shambhavi Nautiyal

I salute all the teachers, whether or not they have taught me, as every teacher deserves recognition and honour. I salute you because you struggle, hustle and take action just for the betterment of me, a student. I come to you to earn and attain the knowledge you have, and in this cultivated relationship of a teacher and a student, we start to play a significant role in each other’s lives. You find ways to make me understand the lessons better and be more engaged in class, so I don’t feel estranged and stuck out like a sore thumb. You are the one who decides my favourite subject, and all these efforts of yours make me admire you and look up to you after seeing your concern for me. Oh, teacher, I express my utter gratitude to you and hope that I come out as gratifying student. Your words of wisdom and encouragement make me push ahead against all odds and work harder than I did before to become worthy of a teacher like you. Please remember that we, your students, will be there for you in times of need. Oh, teacher, you make our childhood, and I promise to continue to trust what you have told me.

A teacher sheds blood, sweat and tears to ensure that her students are confident in their knowledge and are confident enough to present it. The teacher works hard only to improve the student and not to profit herself in any way. She dedicates her entire life to spreading her knowledge amongst a different set of students every year. She looks out for her students and corrects them when they are wrong. Education is what distinguishes humans from animals, and teachers are the ones who educate us, so we should respect teachers above all. Outside of the classroom, no one knows a teacher or her worth. It is the students only who genuinely know her, in light of the fact we as students should carry our teacher’s legacy because we are who we are today because of the teachers who taught us in whatever category or time.

Act With Humility, Defeat Ego - Rishona Chopra

You love modesty; you hate artificialness. You do your best to be humble. Yet your ego and pride show their strength from time to time. Does this happen? Sometimes we don't realize what our stubborn ego is up to. The problem could be as fundamental as not knowing what ego is. Any image which is not our true identity is ego. It is when we make something we have acquired as our identity.

Our qualification, position, skill, relation, religion or caste - when we make any of these our identity, we play our roles based on this identity. We expect others to behave accordingly to us. Every time you act with humility, your ego gets defeated.

At the same time, Appreciation for others shows your modesty and humbleness. Instead of thinking about ourselves, we appreciate other person's efforts. Humility and Appreciation build a good relationship between peers, two base values of a healthy classroom. Values like cooperation and respect come in when we have the base of humility ready.

Humility is that rare value that we hardly find in people today. Simple gestures like holding the door for someone else or picking up someone else's belongings show humility. It demonstrates that you do not consider these actions small or petty. Humility is not thinking less about yourself. Instead, it is about thinking of yourself as less. We don't have to stop thinking about ourselves, but we must stop thinking of ourselves as more significant than all because we are equal in many terms. We should treat others the way we wish to be treated. I believe in life, we all need to be humble, and it is the only way to peace, happiness, and success because humility is, after all, the mother of all virtues and beings. It is the supreme power. Humility is essential in the classroom; it teaches us to be able and kind to all around us, our peers and teachers. Rishona Chopra Grade VI Gyanshree School

Learning - Yashraj Sharma

 When one teaches, two learn."

                       Robert Heinlein

It is what is called the "joy of learning". We learn by our flaws, mistakes, experiences, and sometimes by our wrong decisions.

We learn through interacting with our friends, listening to others, by seeing some skills and also very much from books. These all act as raw material, food for thought and, at times, gives fuel to our ideas and unleash our imagination. But, as said, it's a symbiotic relationship between the two…the learner and the mentor as both take lessons and upgrade their understanding.

It also gives a platform for both to enlarge their perspective and sometimes changes their perspective.

It would be correct to say, "What we learn becomes a part of who we are".

Honesty - Khushi Badgeri

Honesty, for me, means to be truthful, authentic and genuine to yourself and to others. It's like the foundation base of any relationship.

Being honest makes us feel mature and responsible person. Let me share a minor incident.

While playing with my friends in our living room, I accidentally broke a photo frame. I did not know what to do. Seeing the broken frame pieces on the floor, all my friends disappeared. I quietly cleaned all the mess and quietly went to my bed with tears in my eyes. That photo frame was my mom's favourite piece. I felt very guilty. When my mom returned home from the office in the evening, she noticed something was missing from the corner table. But she didn't say a word. After dinner, I quietly went to her and confessed to her what had happened and said sorry. She looked at me and gave me a tight hug, and said she appreciated me for being honest and taking responsibility for the mistake. I promised her that henceforth I would be more careful.

Admitting my mistake and getting forgiveness gave me internal satisfaction and pride, to be honest with myself.
So, my friends, I realized that it takes a little courage to be honest, and admit to our mistakes, knowingly or unknowingly.

There is a saying, "Honesty is the best policy." Just believe it.

Friendship - Khushi Badgeri

Friendship is a state of trust where two friends spend time talking and knowing each other. Friendship is an important relationship in everyone's life. It means understanding, forgiveness, growing together, sharing, and keeping secrets. Mainly it also needs to have lots of patience.

For me, my true friendship is with my books and nature. I love to see the beauty of nature and write its beauty in my book. I love to plant seeds and see their different stages of growth. I can talk to them
while watering or being around them. Plants can listen to you and feel your touch. You have to preserve nature. It's our responsibility in friendship. The more you plant trees and take care of nature there will be greenery everywhere which will help our ecosystem.

Friendship - Vinisha Choudhary

Friendship is one of the most precious gifts of life. It is a relationship between people. It is the purest and divine relationship among all other relations. Friends support you in life, not only in the happy times but also in your hard times.

True friendship is what gives us reason to stay firmer and happy in life. Many people don't have a family, but they have family friends to them. In a good friendship honesty and loyalty plays a very important role. Having a best friend in life is a blessing that doubles your joy and divides your pain. Friends never leave up in bad times.

We learn how to understand people and trust others. A real friend will always motivate you and cheer for you. When we make friends on the first day of school, we become delighted, but when we all get far from our friends, we miss them a lot. Whether they made fun of us and whether they helped us in our bad times.

Friendship - Akshar Rajpurohit

Friendship is a relationship of mutual affection between people. Friendship is a more vital form of interpersonal bond than an association. Friendship has been studied in academic fields such as communication, sociology, social psychology, anthropology, and philosophy. Various educational theories of friendship have been proposed, including social exchange theory, equality theory, relational dialectics, and attachment styles.

Such characteristics include affection; kindness, love, virtue, sympathy, empathy, honesty, altruism, loyalty, mutual understanding and compassion, enjoyment of each other company, trust, and the ability to be oneself, express one's feelings to others and make mistakes without fear of judgement from the friend.

Friendship - Vinki Srivastava

Vinki Shrivastava, VI,

Friendship is a ship that helps us cover long distances through the turbulence of our life. Friends don't judge each other; they always stay together. Happiness is having friends with the same mental disorders as yours. A true friend is one soul in two bodies. Tag your real friends, make friends who force you to level up. Friendship is not a big thing, but a million tiny items become a friendship. Friendship is the best thing because every relationship starts after being friends only. You love your mother, father, and teachers because they are your best friends before being a parent or a teacher.

I like to read quotes of great leaders as they shape my thoughts. I have fun playing games from Skating and Swimming to Hopscotch and Ludo as they are full of fun. I think little things in life give us the most joy. I also love learning about computer languages. Acting is my goal.

Friendship - Laxman Singh

Laxman Singh
Friendship is a divine relationship. We don’t have similarity in our blood, but still, that person cares for us. Irrespective of all differences, a friend chooses you, understands you, and support you. Whenever you are in self-doubt or lacking confidence, talk to a friend, and your worry will surely go away.

A true friend will always want your happiness. A life without a good friend is merely empty. Honesty is the key factor to maintain the friendship forever. For understanding each other’s emotions, you have to be completely honest with each other. Patience and acceptance are also other factors for friendship to last long. Understanding the differences as well as accepting them is what a maturity factor in a friendship. Friendship will fulfill you with sweet memories that you can cherish for the rest of your life.

The unbounded love, as well as care, is what makes the relationship between two friends strong.
