Myths Of Retirement - Rishona Chopra

PC-diywarads.com
Retirement; Young people often look forward to it and middle-aged ones dread it. To young ones, retirement seems to be about relaxation, peace, joy, television, vacation and all you ever wanted to do but couldn't. To middle-aged and working people, retirement seems to be synonymous with boredom, no work at all, loneliness, approaching death and the end of a career.
Being a young minor, I would definitely say that retirement seems to be relaxation and enjoyment but this perspective is quite unlikely for the ones who are in dire need of it.

Often people get rather upset, bored, and sad during retirement and invite problems for themselves and you can't blame them! They have been through a lot of changes in their life and change has never been easy to deal with.

Most people need a change of perspective and that's why it's important to know a few myths of retirement that may change one's perspective about it.

1st Myth: Retirement means the End of Work

Of course not! There is no age barrier to work! In fact, it's the perfect time to try out new things and explore your areas of interest! Create a new passion for yourself! And even if you don't find work to do instantly, it's always good to take a little rest. Relaxation may help you more and after years of work, you do deserve some!

2nd Myth: New Career Ambitions are for Young People

Nearly three out of five retirees launch into a new line of work after retirement! It's not because they need money but to stay mentally and physically active and more importantly do something they want to do. Age can never be a barrier and nothing else can if what you're doing is your true passion!
And something that happens after retirement is that you can just do things for yourself. Yes, we always feel the need to show others what we did but that's when we are free to do anything for our own happiness.

3rd Myth: Retirement Is A Time Of Decline

Well yes, you're growing old and ageing but you've still got a life to spend so live life happily and do things you never could. Yes indeed, you are approaching the end soon but this is the time to turn to spirituality if you already haven't. To actually regain yourself and know your true purpose. Not only will it help one embrace the "dreadful" time of death but also feel happy knowing that you have lived your life in crescendo. In a way, it's actually a sign that you need to do all the things in your life that you never did, relax and most importantly cherish these times!

Retirement is a phase of life like any other and it's a beautiful phase. A unique one.

An example where I have shown patience - Sunday School Reflections 12th March 2023

Patience is the ability or quality of a person to bear and accept the delay of things without becoming angry or upset. It is a possession that every human has and resides in. But the thing is, we have to implore and find or discover it within ourselves.

Music has its own way of convincing and pacifying others. It has always been my source of comfort, relaxation and calmness during life's hardships and stressful times. A moment in my life where I showed true Patience was when I had just started learning guitar. I struggled to play and hit the right chords and notes initially. I started taking learning guitar as a burden as it consumed most of my free time and prevented me from giving more time to my studies. But I still needed to drop it halfway. Eventually, in a few months, I felt more comfortable and enjoyable whenever I played my guitar. I learned from this event of my life that not only hard work, Patience, and determination are keys to success, and the result you get when you put all three together is always fascinating, magnificent, extraordinary and exceeds your satisfaction.

"To lose patience is to lose the battle."- Mahatma Gandhi.

Patience is the ability and capability of anybody to prevent anger and accept calmness when something takes place after a long time. It is the ability that everyone must possess and use at the right time, place and moment.

Patience is essential because we need to use it in our daily life. If we have the Patience to do things, it will be helpful for us, and if we do not acquire enough Patience to do something, we may face many troubles in our life.

These troubles may create barriers and problems in our daily life. I am a person who possesses many good qualities and abilities. One of ability is Patience. I use my best Patience at the right place and time for my benefit. I have shown my Patience many times. I am one of the incidents in my life where I have demonstrated Patience.

Before coming to Pestalozzi, I studied at a school popularly known as Umling School. I had many good friends there. One day my friend and I were coming back from school. On the way, my friend said he had some work in a nearby shop. He requested I wait for some time. I did as he told me to do so. I waited for a long time seeking his arrival. Finally, after half an hour, he came back from the shop. He requests my apology for being so late. He told me a long queue at the shop prevented him from doing his work and returning quickly. Without any delay, we continued to walk home after this. This was one of the parts of my where I showed Patience.

My greatest fear and how I overcame it - Tenzin Jambey

People have so many fears in life, but we can overcome them by facing them and trying out the challenges that create fear. Like everyone, I have so many fears.

I am afraid of darkness, blood, scary things etc. Out of all these, my greatest fear is my future. I feel terrified when I think of my future and what I will become later. As my friends put it, it's very amusing, and I believe the same.
This fear dips me into depression when I think of how my future would look and how I would take care of my family.

Specific questions arise in my mind, like
would I be able to fulfil my family's wants? I fear feeling ashamed if I fail to meet my family's demands and wishes, as they put in a lot of hard work to send me to school. But I also believe where there is dark, there is light, too; where there is sorrow, there is happiness too!

There are plenty of careers and jobs that I can choose from, and this thought gives me relaxation and relief.
This positive thought keeps my fear away and helps me focus on the better side of life!

Monday Mornings - Oshi Singh

Monday Mornings

As the alarm buzzed, I opened my eyes, hoping to get some more sleep. Alas! It was six thirty already. I am always very hesitant about Monday mornings. On one side, I hate getting back to the same basic boring routine after all the relaxation and fun one had on Saturday and Sunday. Although Mondays do make me look forward to getting all freshened up and make me want to have a good kick start for the upcoming week. Every week I find Mondays the most challenging day (Trust me, making the decision almost 52 times a year isn't a cakewalk!). Nevertheless, I have to admit that although Mondays end up getting tiring, it indeed is a lot of fun getting back to the same basic boring routine and meeting all my friends again. Mondays make you ( me at least) realise that your life is still going on, and you have another chance to learn from your mistakes & just keep going.

Friendship - Sayogita Kunwar

Friendship is the fragrance of a flower,
Friendship is purity of heart,
Friendship is the flow of air.

Friendship is a beautiful part of our life. It is the second name of happiness. Whenever we feel down or exhausted, there will be a person who will be patting our head with vibes of relaxation. It is difficult to describe this as a bond because it's is widely spread era of joyfulness. Having a special friend in life is like having heaven on the land. A friend is like a shield that protects us from this cruel world. If you are blessed with such a friend, you are the luckiest person in the world.

Never ever let go of your friend's hand; you are incomplete without them in your life.
