JDS Reflections - My Good School on 15th and 17th Nov 2024

How are humans different from animals?
Humans differ from animals primarily in advanced cognitive abilities, language, culture, morality, and the use of complex tools, allowing for abstract thought, creativity, and societal development.

Selfless Mother's love
A mother's love can not be expressed in words. A mother loves her kids more than anything else in the world. Never wants anything in return from her kids. The finest and purest form of love if anyone can get is the love of one's mother. Also, a child learns more from the hardships his mother has faced in her life. The mother is the only one in the world who ever takes care of her kids. She never thinks of losing them in front of her eyes.

Soulful Illumination - Aati Pema

PC- Ati Pema

"Soulful Illumination: The Essence of Kindness and Genuineness"

"Kindness is defined as one who is considerate towards others through their sympathetic actions. Kindness in itself is a charitable action as it's selfless, where one keeps one's self-consciousness aside. When one shows kindness, we become honest to ourselves and this genuineness embodies the warmth of the human soul. Here kindness is the torch which burns in the dark and a person's genuineness embodies the warmth and light.

Kindness promotes genuineness, which is what makes the connection between two souls. This is why mercy is said to be nectar to those who give and receive, as it is also a way in life to show kindness. So kindness is actually not defined just by being considerate of others. But it is any compassionate act done with a genuine empathetic spirit. Though I have said it to be a selfless act in the paragraphs above, it still raises our self-esteem throughout our lives with every act of such selfless service.

"That light we see is burning in my hall. How far that little candle throws his beams!" - Portia (William Shakespeare)"

Selfless and Compassionates - Shubhangi Kashyap

Selflessness and Compassion words are somewhat connected. Selflessness means caring more for what others need and thinking less about oneself, while compassion is all about showing sympathy and emotions or having an eagerness to help others.

Having compassion is a genuine emotion for others. It's a powerful force that can help individuals overcome feelings of isolation and despair and can promote growth. By cultivating both compassion and selflessness, individuals can create a stronger connection with others

Merry Christmas! - Rishona Chopra

Merry Christmas !! I know most of us don't believe in the stories of Santa Claus, but sometimes it's good to play along with it and enjoy the festival!

A small act of giving could mean everything to a person. Giving not only makes the other person happy but also makes us happy. As said,' make others happy, and you will be satisfied in the same way give and give, and you will feel better. When we give, we shouldn't expect the same from a person. We should give from our hearts.

At Christmas, we receive gifts but have we ever thought that instead of receiving, we should give more and buy things, not for us but others in need. If we can afford it, buying stuff for us when we need them makes sense. There is a tremendous difference between want and need. When we want something, we don't really need them; when we need them, we want to use them properly. So on Christmas, we should give and not take, and we should give it in such a way that we do not mind if the other offers a return gift. So today, On Christmas, let us pass, share and give selflessly!!

Christmas reminds us of beautiful angels with wings and a divine wand in their hands. Wings symbolize the angelic and light stage of the mind, which is experienced through purity and soul-consciousness, and the sacred rod is a symbol of positive blessings we receive from God and then share with each soul in the world!

Christmas is not only about giving but also about love and care. Time and commitment. Let's spend some time with our loved ones on this beautiful festival of joy. If you can see the love between plants and animals, then why do only we humans fall into the trap and ego and anger?

Love is patient; love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonour others, is not self-seeking, is not easily angered, and keeps no record of wrongs.

A Selfless Person - Yunika Pokharel

The most selfless person in my life is my MOM. I think she is the selfless one because being selfless is that you feel less about yourself and more about others. When you are generous and kind, you think about others before you, have humanity in you, consider others, and then be called selfless.

As for my mom or anyone's, it's the same. Mother always thinks for everyone before her. I want to share an incident with you. Once when my mom had gone out for some work, and when she was back, she bought some eatables for us. My brother was excited, and he started searching for it. When he got it, he had it and went. My mom gave the leftovers to my dad and me.

Later I learned that she didn't have any of the eatables and just gave them to us, although it was her favourite, this thinking of my mother keeping everyone before she makes me feel that she is the one who is selfless in my life.

Omoiyari - Rishona Chopra

Omoiyari is the Japanese art of compassion. It is a form of selfless empathy and compassion. It is when you put yourself in their shoes. Japan uses Omoiyari as in their country; care, consideration, and kindness underpin all aspects of daily life in Japan.

The most important part is that they don't force anyone to do it it is simply their lifestyle. It is just about making others happy and comfortable, and as they say, "Make Others Happy, and you will be happy too"!

"Know the pain of others by pinching yourself."
