Purpose To Live - Arfa Khan

Story Pin image
We all have a purpose. Our purpose gives us a reason to wake up each day. Without a purpose, our lives feel meaningless. Our lives become equivalent to wandering on a crooked path with no destination. In a world where money, power, and status are chased, we often forget what truly matters: a meaningful life. These pursuits don’t fulfill our existential emptiness; after all, there is always a question of why we ‘need’ power or status. To boast about it? Is that our purpose? Of course not! Our purpose plays a role here too; just chasing after material wealth won't solve the lack of meaning. Without awareness of the motive, our lives would be stuck in an endless cycle, waking up without a goal and then working a regular job to support a meaningless life financially. To find a reason to work, to live, and to keep going, we must find our purpose, but how?

Imagine you are held at gunpoint. While you’re begging to be set free to live, the criminal says, “Give me just one reason why I should let you live”. What would be your answer? That’s your purpose. A soldier’s purpose is to protect his nation’s land; an artist’s purpose is to amuse everyone’s eyes with their art; a doctor’s purpose is to save lives; an activist’s purpose is to fight for equality; and a mother’s purpose is to care for her child.

Finding our purpose takes time and requires a lot of pondering. Maybe it resides in one’s passions—to care for a loved one or to fight for justice and freedom. It gives us a reason to keep pushing forward—something to live for and die for. Each person has their own purpose, and you can find yours.

3 R's of Leadership - Nishan Karki

"A good leader takes little more than his share of the blame,
a little less than his share of the credit."
-Arnold H. Glasow

Leaders often practice the three R's:-

● Respect for self
● Respect for other
● Responsibility for their actions

To be a true leader, one should have self-respect, respect others, and be responsible for all his actions.

A leader is a courageous and supportive person who supports and encourages people. A true leader supports his team and helps them to exceed their potential.

Some leaders may act as bosses and only give commands and would not support, encourage or help their teams. But a true leader works as part of the team, influences, supports, inspires and encourages the team.

Now, let us talk about the three R's:-

Respect for all: First of all, self-respect means a feeling of confidence and pride in yourself. Leaders have and need to keep their self-respect. Respecting themselves helps them view their actions and know their abilities, capabilities, and potential. Knowing themselves assists them to do their work efficiently, effectively and conveniently.

Respect for others: Leaders - not only respect themselves but also other people. Leaders must respect all of their team members so that they all will coordinate and cooperate with them. It helps develop trust and makes a good relationship between the leader and the team. The team will have a positive attitude towards him. Thus, the team will also support, cooperate and coordinate with the leader.

Responsibility for their actions: Leaders take responsibility for their actions. Taking responsibility will help the leader to improve his leadership. He will be able to do his work more conveniently and will solve problems with ease. Thus, taking responsibility for all their actions is a critical task for the leader.

At last, I would like to conclude my view with a quote.

"Leaders aren’t born they are made. And they are made just like anything else, through hard work. And that’s the price we’ll have to pay to achieve that goal or any goal."
~ Vince Lombardi

Oh teacher, I salute Thee - 5th Feb 2023 Reflections For The Week

I salute my teachers for being an inspiration to me. Teachers provide knowledge and education. They become our moral supporters for us. With the teachers, we can make it this far. Our parents are also teachers. They were our first teachers who taught us how to walk when we failed and attempted a lot of times. Our teachers in School are the ones who showed us the light when it was dark. Teaching is a complex thing to do. & With all my heart, I thank my teachers for cooperating with us during the pandemic outbreak. Pestalozzi has also played a massive role in my life by giving me the best quality of education and supporting not only me but thousands of children like me.

I am thankful to be a part of this train journey full of joy and happiness. At last, hats off to the real heroes of our society... ๐Ÿ˜Œ✨

Tenzing Dhekyong N

We should always respect our teachers not only because they are elders than us but also because they are the ones who love and care for us like their own children. They taught us not only how to read and write but also to distinguish between right and wrong. We can best show respect to our teachers by listening to them and following their instructions. We should not talk unnecessarily with our friends while the teacher is teaching in class; we should focus more on the teacher leading us and ask questions by being curious. This is the best way to communicate with teachers, be humble, and show respect to them.

Jeni Sherpa

Saluting basically means respecting someone, so we respect teachers. Someone has rightly said," School is the second home, and teachers are second parents." The teacher has a significant role in shaping student's life, making them able to solve problems and face the world confidently and boldly. Nothing is enough to pay the debt of the teachers to students because teachers are the ones who teach us every value in life and enlighten the students. Many people find teachers more valuable than god. By being good to them, listening to them, being respectful and doing well, we can be students, which is what every teacher wants their students to be. Teachers are those who show every student their correct path and guide them. Words are not enough to thank teachers as they stand there for students in every problematic situation.

Shristi Khulal

Teachers always want the best for us. They care for every student and are forever ready to help us. Beyond our academic success, they also care about our happiness, well-being and life outside the classroom. Though they can sometimes be a little strict with us, we must understand that it is for our own good. As I say for teachers Wishing you joy and happiness, you are a fantastic teacher, and you only deserve the best. You are the spark, the inspiration, the guide, the candle to my life. I am deeply thankful that you are my teacher. Books, sports, homework and knowledge, are the pillar of our success, and you are the best in the classroom.

Januka Basnet

A teacher is someone whose position comes second in our life after our parents. Our parents only tells which I the right path but our teacher tells us how to walk on the right path. Our parents tells us not to make mistakes but teacher tells how to rectify the mistakes and learn from it. Life is like a journey on a train and our parents and teachers are like the drivers of the train. From our birth to the year of three our train of life is driven by our parents and when we get in play group the  driver gets charged and we get derived by the teachers for almost seventeen to eighteen years. The teachers are the most important person in our life because they are the one who thinks about us and lead us to a brighter future. That is why School is also known as our second home.

Reflection on what makes you feel who you are - Shristi Khulal

Even though I am not exceptionally talented, the support, love, help and care I receive daily from people around me makes me feel who I am.

The knowledge, education, encouragement and motivation I get from those who help me endlessly in my life are my parents, teachers, friends and Pestalozzi; all have helped me become a better person.

The challenges and even problems that came into my life made me stronger and braver.

Thus, these are the things that make me who I am.

What Makes Us Who We Are - Tenzin Nyesel

The first people that came to mind after hearing about that topic are my parents, who have done so much for me. The way I'm able to live, read and write is all because of my parents who've invited me into this world and have done so much hard work for me to live a good life.

Then my second thought was my teachers who've taught me not only studies but also good manners and habits.

The last thought was that my friends have always supported me and always been there for me at whatever stage.

These all are people in my life who've made me who I am right now, for which I'm very thankful and grateful.

Find Your Calling - Prarthana Rastogi

Your career is what you're paid for, Your calling is what you're made for.
                                            - Steve Harvey

Finding your calling means following your passion and doing what you feel happy about. Everyone has their calling. You may have found it but not know about it or you might have to find it . Your calling says a lot about who you are and what you want to be. We shouldn't push ourselves to do something in which we have no interest; we should follow our dreams, which makes us happy from within. Parents should help their children with their calling and support them whatever their children see their future in. Everyone wants to become successful in the future but what makes them different is how are they successfully portray what are passionate about. When a child wants to do something unique they shouldn't be discouraged. Parents shouldn't put pressure on their children if they don't want to become someone their parents want because it can lead their child to go in depression. Someone wants to become a doctor, engineer, sports person and many more. Like me, I want to become a sports star. I love playing sports. I am passionate about basketball, badminton, skating and cricket. My parents always support me in contributing in their way to become what I want to and I'm really happy and feel lucky about it.

Courage - Dakshita Sirvi

Have you ever lost someone whom you had loved the most in your life?
I have.

The one whom I loved the most in my life, the one with whom I shared everything. No one is not afraid of anything in the world. What do you need to overcome these fears? All you have to do is to show courage. For me, courage is being fearless, confident, and daring to do anything. Because in life, there are many situations where you are broken, and no one is there for you.

You have to show courage; you have to stay strong. You have to forget all the memories you have spent with that person and move on. You have to overcome this fear of losing your loved ones. Because no one is immortal, everyone has to leave this life one day. You have to become capable to give others the support you needed at that time.

Always try to overcome these fears and show courage.
