My Good School - Pragyan Prashast

My experience at My Good School was wonderful this Sunday. In our session, we had the opportunity to read and discuss two stories.

Kabir and Guru Nanak

The first story we read was about Kabir and Guru Nanak, written by Sanvi Rai. The story provided us with insightful lessons and a deeper understanding of their teachings and journey.

The Brahmin's Spell

The second story was "The Brahmin's Spell." Through this story, I learnt several new and interesting words. Here are some of the words I came across:

  • Confederates
  • Identical
  • Dwelling
  • Marvellous
  • Peerless
  • Ignorant
  • Asseveration

"APPRECIATION" - Geetankshi Tamta

Small word, huh? Sure is, but it holds a tremendous meaning.

Appreciation- A feeling or expression of admiration or gratitude.

Is that it? I don't think so.

We often describe 'appreciation' as a core value. When in reality, it's a habit.

Yup! You read it right. Appreciation is not a value. It's a habit which you have to practice daily.

Now You must be wondering why you should practice appreciation? Shouldn't it come from the heart?

Well, yes, my wonderful readers, you are right. It should come from the heart. But for that too, you must be conscious enough to realize the good things happening around you. In a world full of negativity, consciously and willingly choosing to look at the bright side of everything is what makes appreciation a habit.

To appreciate something, you should take the time and patience to realize its value, whether it's an opportunity, a thing, or even a person. You can't appreciate a three-course meal you get each day unless you stop complaining about the taste of the food or about how much you hate potatoes. And take time to realize how blessed you are to receive that meal. You won't be able to appreciate your friend's efforts if you won't stop complaining about their bad jokes or loud laugh. Take time and appreciate them for their companionship and support. Instead of being upset with your mother for not buying you that colour box, try appreciating her for her kindness and love for you.

The world can be a whole different place if everyone starts appreciating each other for all the good things they do instead of complaining about their faults; we have to be conscious of actions to make appreciation a habit.

And as Mahatma Gandhi said-

Your beliefs become your thoughts,

Your thoughts become your words,

Your words become your actions,

Your actions become your habits,

Your habits become your values,

Your values become your destiny.

So, let's start it today. From now on, each day take a few minutes from your day to sit alone. And with a deep breath, think of all the amazing things and people you can appreciate in your life. Trust me. It will make a huge difference [in a wonderful way].

P.S.- It is my first-ever blog.

"What Might Not Have Been....☮️ -Oshi Singh

 What Might Not Have Been…

When two nations are at war, the fight is not only among the nations or the soldiers but also between innocent lives- the fight between life and death. During times like these, the quality of cooperation helps us a lot. Cooperation is a quality which helps us to co-exist and create a world where we can all live without fear. I mean, let's imagine a world with no fights. A world full of people moving around freely with no fear. Many might say it isn't possible, but being the optimistic person I am, I say it 'IS POSSIBLE'. Not immediately, but gradually it is.

Speaking of wars, here is a poem which captures the emotions of a soldier who lost his mom in the war, but didn't he do the same to so many other people? What is right and what is wrong will he ever figure out? Or will he ever UNDERSTAND? Is this karma?

Something to ponder on...

It was the last time I saw her.

The last time I saw her big blue eyes shine like stars in the night sky.

The last time I saw her silky hair brush against the wind.

The last time I heard her high-pitched voice.

I remember she was as busy as a bee,

Yet as calm as one can be.

Her heart was like an empty stage

And her love, if I may?

Her love was like a tornado in a jar.

Among all the untold stories of the war,

It was hers which hurt me the most, perhaps.

Because she was my mother.

Sometimes I wonder why did it have to be HER?

With her gone, I feel like a river flowing into the unknown.

With her gone, I feel like a falling star.

Now I am stuck in a cruel world full of strangers.

Now I am stuck in a prison with no escape.

If only I were wise and not otherwise.

If only I realised the right and the wrong.

If only I had fought with words and not guns.

If only I had listened from within.

This, might not have been

Freedom - Asmi Patankar

Freedom is a unique feeling. It is felt differently by everyone. I experience freedom when I play with my friends. I enjoy running around without adults supervising me all the time. When I play with my friends, I get exercise also happiness. Honestly, the experiences are too good for words.

Ultimately, playing in the ground with my great friends is my freedom.
