Cooperation - Avni Karmarkar

Cooperation is working together in a team to complete a particular task. Let me share a remarkable story where we cooperated with each other and got success.

Tucked away into the Himalayas, the wondrous kingdom of Bhutan has some beautiful stories. This story is about four friends, an elephant, a monkey, a peacock, and a rabbit. This is a well-known story all over Bhutan. In the beginning, the four friends were not friends. They argued about who had the right to a fruit tree, whose delicious fruit was enjoyed by all of them. This argument stopped when a man overruled them and claimed ownership of the fruit tree. The four friends wondered what to do to get the fruit they all loved. They wanted to help each other, so they became friends.

“ I will plant a seed in the ground,” the peacock said.

“I will water it,” the rabbit said.

“I will fertilize it,” said the monkey.

“I will protect it,” said the elephant.

The seed grew and grew until it became a tree. On the tree came the lovely fruit. Now the four friends had a problem. They could see the fruits, but they could not reach them. So they made a tower by climbing on each other’s backs; first the elephant, then the monkey, the rabbit, and finally the peacock. Through their friendship and cooperation, the four were able to share their favourite fruit. In Bhutan’s national language, Dzongkha, the story is called Thuenpa puen shi, which means cooperation, relation, four.

Co-operation - Aanya Kumar

You must have heard the word “cooperation. What is cooperation? It is nothing but considering and accommodating the ideas of others, rather than only ours and respecting the same too. Cooperation is working with others and working as a team.

Here is a story on the importance of cooperation

One day an average businessman named Harish was heading towards his office. Hardly after one hour after he reached, his manager called him. He said, “Harish, there is a significant group project that I am making you in charge of. I hope there will be no problems. But if there is, please contact me.” Harish was a kind man and loved working in teams. But the thought of being the senior-most made him bossy and mean. His voice tone became demanding, and slowly his team members stopped liking him. He chose his best team member and made him do all the work. Not one was allowed to help him. There was no teamwork.

Harish proudly started presenting the work and told them it had been done by the best team member only. This statement astonished the manager. He talked to Harish in person. “Harish! I said it was a group project! This is what you call a group project?” But Harish had another perspective… “But sir… you wanted it to be the best, and that is the reason I did this.” “No, Harish! It was still a group project. Redo the project… and this time as a team!” This scolding taught Harish a lesson; he understood the work and effort of a single person could be further improved if they were performed in a group. This time, he encouraged every member for teamwork, respected their inputs, and reworked the entire project. Everybody gave their best and the presentation turned out impressive. All team members were remarked splendidly.

We all should learn this virtue of cooperation. It is essential to be a successful person.

Trust - Divya Rathore

Trust, in simple terms, is faith in another person, despite a lack of an assured outcome. One characteristic that makes trust unique is its fragility. To gain the trust of parents or friends, one must continuously prove one's honesty and reliability.

Among all my friends, I trust only Sanyogita because she always motivates me and helps me in any kind of situation. Due to my financial problem, I couldn't join all online classes, and my work was also incomplete. I asked all my friends to help me, but not even a single friend could help me. I was quite disappointed. Then Sanyogita, my classmate, came and told me not to get upset and said she would help me with all my work. That act of Sanyogita made me feel happy and proud that at least there was someone who helped me in my time of need.

I realized that living in the world these days is hard because people are no longer honest and helpful. Being dishonest always causes problems that can lead to someone getting offered. It seems that there is someone who can help you in everyday life and someone who kills you by their words and nature. I think every person should help others. They should understand each other's problems, their situation, their feelings and show empathy towards others. We can only trust a person when someone understands us. As Sanyogita understood my problem, now I can easily trust her. At last, I would like to sum it up by quoting that 'A friend in need is a friend indeed.'
