Autobiography of socks - Rishona Chopra

I am a (sniffing) sock. You might think I have a cold as I sniff, and you are absolutely right. My job is to protect people from the cold, and I am so sincere with my job that I end up getting a cold myself. I have a wonderful uniform that has black and white patches on it and some sparkling glitter on it, so you can imagine how beautiful my uniform is! As I said, many people use me for keeping them protected from the cold. You must think I have an easy job, but I do not. People throw me into the washing machine when I get dirty, and that reckless creature throws water and foam on me!

You might not like the people who stay in the dirt, but you will be stunned to know that I love them. Why? Well, dirty people wear me for a more extended period, so I don’t have to go in the washing machine and get a fever! I really don’t want to make myself ill.

A gift of Freedom - Bhavya Mahajan

Bhavya Mahajan,
7A, Ahlcon Public School

It was my birthday last week. But due to the pandemic, no one could come. So I thought of celebrating it differently by giving somebody a unique gift of Freedom. Before my birthday, I purchased a caged parrot for thousand rupees. The parrot was charming and adorable. On my special day, I gave him food and released it. The moment I opened the door of the cage, the parrot flapped its wings and happily soared high, away in the sky. After doing this good deed, I felt elated and satisfied. However, when my little sister saw that the parrot had flown away, she started crying. I explained to her that birds are born to fly free, and no one should steal their Freedom from them. It is a sin to trap them in a cage. Through this incident, I learnt that giving Freedom to somebody is the best gift we can provide. My little sister nodded and smiled.

I am an avid reader of mystery and fictional stories. I am fond of writing short stories, poems and articles to vent my thoughts and feelings. My hobbies include dancing and singing. I employ my creativity and imagination in making various art forms.

We all know that there is a lot of waste on this earth. We can have kitchen waste, waste paper or maybe some waste furniture which is broken or something. But, did you know that there is a waste known as E-waste? This type of waste is obtained from the gadgets that are broken. We tend to throw these gadgets than replace the parts that are damaged.

E-waste is harmful to our bodies. Although precious materials such as gold and platinum are stored, a few chemicals are toxic. Usually, kids are there for doing the necessary work, which affects their bodies tremendously. To save these children, let us decrease the discarding of gadgets. There are a few ways in which we do so-

We can replace parts that are damaged.

We can get it fixed and be ready to use it again.

We should give it proper servicing.
